MTC Alumni Share “Magical” Reunion
Media Transformation Challenge Alumni, Fellows, Coaches, and Faculty reconnected and recharged at MTC’s 2024 Alumni Reunion last week in New York City.
December 11, 2024
Over the course of 24 hours at Google’s St. John’s Terminal, nearly 150 participants shared fond memories, key lessons, and new ideas while collaborating and matchmaking against new opportunities.
Alumni Sara M. Lomax, S. Mitra Kalita, Áine Kerr, Rupa Jha, David Scott, LaSharah S. Bunting, Maritza L. Félix, Mackenzie Warren, Santiago Lyon, Noreen Gillespie, and Sitara Nieves, shared their personal MTC Journeys.
From “impactful, “impeccable,” to “magical,” early feedback from Alumni was overwhelmingly positive.
Breakout sessions included workshops on using momentum to increase the odds for your performance challenge (Executive Director Charlie Baum), developing collaborative performance challenges to expand the MTC Community’s impact (Co-Founder Doug Smith), building cultures of belonging (Alumni Martin G. Reynolds), using Temperament Styles to address personal concerns and craft actionable strategies (Faculty Karen Baum Gordon and Coach Stéphane Mayoux), plus Collaborative Matchmaking (Coach Lauren Gustus), and Career Conversations (Coach Fran Scarlett).
Charlie announced new initiatives to expand the organization beyond its annual Program.
A new website and member directory will provide a means for Alumni to connect with profiles emphasizing MTC attributes (i.e. Performance Challenges) searchable by class, industry, organization, skills and more, plus private messaging, and member-only content like MTC slides, tips and refreshers.
He also highlighted a growing set of MTC Services to extend the organization’s impact deeper into individual organizations and ecosystems, including a smaller-scale version of the program, and a la carte workshops on Momentum, Business Model Canvas, RAOOI, and more.
As Alumni slowly peeled away from the convening, they looked forward to a new class of Fellows in January, the promise of regional MTC reunions and industry conferences, and deeper engagement across a more cohesive, connected community.
Special thanks to GNI’s Casey Pallenik and Whitney (Bell) Redmond for their efforts to make this “runaway success” possible.
As one attendee noted, the MTC Reunion was “a 100% outcome win.”
